The Hijos de Salvador Rodríguez, SA cheese factory (Quesos El Pastor) has been awarded 6 medals, in celebration of the world's most prestigious international cheese awards, the WORLD CHEESE AWARDS 2016, which this time were held in San Sebastián (Spain) and concluded on Friday, November 18, 2016 .
In this edition, Quesos El Pastor (Hijos de Salvador Rodríguez, SA) has obtained awards in the following cheeses:
SUPER GOLD, for Cured blended Cheese El Pastor de la Polvorosa, (6 months of curing, made from sheep, goat and cow milk). The SUPER GOLD medal (GOLD OF GOLD) is the award received by cheeses that are among the 66 best in the world.
SILVER, for Aged Sheep Cheese El Pastor de la Polvorosa (12 months of curing).
SILVER, for the log of Goat Matured with Mold (1 kg.) El Pastor of the Polvorosa.
SILVER, for the blended log El Pastor of the Polvorosa.
BRONZE, for Aged Sheep Cheese El Pastor PDO Zamorano (12 months of curing).
BRONZE, for the Manchego PDO Semicured Sheep Cheese (3 months of curing).
At the World Cheese Awards 2016, 3.000 references from 35 countries have been exceeded, with a jury made up of more than 260 specialists. There has never been so much participation in this contest.

With these awards Hijos de Salvador Rodríguez SA has already added 22 medals, in the last 7 years, in this prestigious competition; something that endorses the quality of quesos El Pastor, present in international markets and opens doors to new markets.
It is gratifying to see how quesos El Pastor, are placed among the "Best cheeses in the world", in this event that is considered the "Oscar Awards" of the cheese sector, taking into account that it is present in 48 countries on five continents.
